Aim:

This course will give you a background to the development of the Equality Act 2010. It will examine who it affects and what it does. It will cover the duties of public bodies and how they can ensure fairness in the workplace.

How to increase diversity in the workplace is covered as is the new protection for carers and women breast-feeding. It will consider the issue of access to buildings for people with disabilities and very importantly the issue of evacuation in an emergency.

  • What is discrimination arising from disability
  • What is indirect discrimination
  • What reasonable changes do you have to make?

 

 

Module 4

This module will cover the following topics:

  • Planning for the evacuation of disabled
  • Personal Emergency Evacuation Plans
  • Evacuation options
  • Practicing evacuations

 

Module 5

This module will cover the following topics:

  • Refuges
  • EVC why it is needed?
  • Wiring
  • Evacuation chairs

 

Module 6

This module will cover the following topics:

  • Evacuation mats
  • Evacuation methods
  • Visually impaired
  • Hearing impaired
